Lydia’s House of Hope is a unique, highly structured, faith-based 365-day residential program, where women come to change their lives and the lives of their children.
Many of our residents come to us without the tools to bring themselves out of poverty and provide better lives for themselves or their children. Things that we take for granted, like budgeting, self-reliance, personal accountability, and responsibility are not part of how many of our residents have been brought up. We change old behaviors and ways of living, and teach new skills and habits that are learned, put into practice, and made a part of everyday life.
At the end of Lydia’s program, residents will have acquired and strengthened their ability to live independently; to take care of their families, to redirect their lives in a positive and productive way, and to learn to give back to the community which had provided for them in their time of need. Below are some of our programs and training topics:
After 12 months, graduates of the program will have the skills to propel their lives forward and break the cycle of generational poverty and homelessness. Graduates also have the opportunity to move into Grace House.
The building was a former nursing home that had been neglected. We have transformed it into a model for combating the epidemic of homelessness and generational poverty throughout the Seacoast Area.
Our facility has a commercial kitchen, computer stations for the residents use, counseling facilities, and communal dining and living areas.
Many of our residents and their children have been born into the mind-set of day-to-day life without options, support, or hope. We want to restore their HOPE and provide a long-term solution to ending poverty and homelessness for these women and families through our program.
With the support of corporations, businesses, individuals, and our amazing community, this facility and program have begun changing families lives!
THANK YOU!
